ABOUT CM METRICS AND DATA ANALYSIS


Metrics provide an opportunity to make the BUSINESS CASE for the kind of information, tools, budget, personnel, training, and resources needed to effectively achieve Best-of-Breed CM. This, in turn, supports the successful achievement of both Program and Enterprise goals.

Course Description: Unlock the power of data in this online workshop designed for Configuration Managers in need of data-based process improvement. Participants will be provided with real-world electronic data sets and guided step-by-step through the dynamic process of defining, running, and refining metrics. This course goes beyond the numbers, teaching students how to define actual metrics for CM processes and uncover meaningful insights. By the end of the course, students will have honed their analytical skills and gained a deep understanding of what metrics reveal about business operations, performance trends, and strategic decision-making.

Key Learning Objectives:
  • Define Metrics: Understand how to choose and define the right metrics for specific goals.

  • Run Metrics: Run the metrics you have created and analyze the results to answer the following questions: Did I get the data I expected/needed? Do my metrics tell the whole story? and What do I need to do to get the information I’m really looking for?

  • Refine Metrics: Develop the skills to adjust and improve metrics for increased accuracy and relevance that will drive process improvements.

  • Analyze Data: Gain proficiency in interpreting metrics to derive actionable insights and make data-driven decisions. Learn how to present your metrics to support the organization, advocate for CM, and ensure that CM Processes are proactively managed.
